The Rossman School Board of Trustees is very pleased to announce its unanimous selection of Elizabeth Zurlinden as the next head of school following Pat Shipley’s retirement at the conclusion of the current school year.

Rossman School has been named among the “50 Best Private Elementary Schools in the U.S.” by (TBS), a leading online education resource. Ranked at No. 31, Rossman was the only Missouri school to make the list.

In formulating the rankings for the list, TBS conducted extensive research, including evaluating parent and student reviews, to determine if ranking criteria were met. More than 200 people attended the Golden Apple Gala, an evening of philanthropy and fun for the Rossman School community. Held March 10 at The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis, the biennial event featured silent and live auctions, an exquisite dinner and dancing.

The dazzling array of auction items up for grabs — including sensational jewelry, rare sports memorabilia, magnificent vacations, Rossman Rarities and much more — helped the Rossman School Parents’ Club raise more than $170,000 for the children of Rossman School. Twenty-six alumni from the Class of 2012 teamed up March 2 for Rossman’s 31st annual Spirit Day basketball game. The high school seniors went head to head with fifth and sixth graders, making a valiant effort despite the wacky games concocted by P.E. teachers Larry Huusko and Jenna Lucas. The alumni handicaps included imaginative challenges like: “Olympic Pairs Figure Basketball,” a tribute to the Olympics in which the alumni had to hold hands as they played; “Seussmania Basketball,” which required the alumni to wear festive costumes and recite lines from Seuss books in honor of the author...Read more

blog_daa.jpgA renowned engineer, an accomplished politician, a pioneering researcher, an inspiring philanthropist, and a former Blue Angels pilot were the honorees at Rossman School’s 100th Anniversary Distinguished Alumni Awards presentation on Thursday, November 30. More than 130 people attended the event, which concluded the school’s centennial celebration.

The American Heart Association recently named Rossman among the top 10 Missouri schools raising funds through the association’s “Jump Rope for Heart” and “Hoops for Heart” fundraisers in 2016-2017. 

Last February, more than 150 Rossman students in grades 2 through 6 participated in the events, raising $11,790. The School has supported Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart for over 25 years, raising more than $170,000 for heart research and health education.

We were lucky to have beautiful clear skies over Rossman School to witness the amazing spectacle of a total solar eclipse. Rossman families, faculty and friends braved a hot, steamy day to gather at the Woods Athletic Field and enjoy the rare event together.

Outstanding ability in mathematics recently earned Rossman School sixth graders Alex Bahr, Christopher Braggs, Grant Dahl, Ryan Hardwick, Jason Klutho, and Jonathan Lee the ranking of first place in the Missouri Math League Annual Sixth Grade Contest. The six-member team, generated by combining the school’s top personal test scores, outperformed 24 other Missouri schools to obtain the state champion title. A glistening four-foot ice sculpture, exquisite floral arrangements, compelling archive displays, trays of sparkling champagne — Every detail adorning the The Ritz-Carlton reception area and ballroom on March 11 exuded splendor and school spirit. However, it was the nearly 350 men and women gathered that evening that made Rossman School’s Centennial Gala truly enchanting.
