Soccer Tournament Showcases Versatility & Teamwork

Last weekend was a big one for Rossman athletes. Fifth and sixth graders represented our school at the annual Rossman School Soccer Tournament. The entire school started the weekend off in style on Friday by wearing blue and gold to show their school spirit and cheer on our team. The pre-game spirit day worked! Rossman played games against five different teams and went undefeated! Our team scored sixteen goals in those five games and had zero goals scored against us.

Thirty students participated in the tournament and many more students cheered on their classmates. One of the most impressive things about Rossman’s athletes is their versatility. We switched up our lineup every game, which allowed each student to experience every position on the field. Their skills, teamwork and hard work were what made them so successful.

We would like to thank the sixth grade parents for running the concession stand and all members of the Rossman community who were a part of our tournament in one way or another.

The annual soccer tournament is one of the highlights of Rossman’s Afterschool Sports program, which is offered for free to students in grades 3 through 6. This year-round primarily recreational program offers soccer, flag football, lacrosse/field hockey, volleyball, tumbling, dance, hockey, basketball, racket sports, track and field and softball, and fitness. Afterschool Sports complements a curricular program incorporating daily physical education for all grades.
