St. Louis Golf Lessons uses world renowned SNAG Golf and U.S. Kids Golf equipment and coaching programs, along with LPGA research-based instruction protocols. These 4-week classes will enhance the skills of experienced golfers while teaching the basics of full swing and short game to brand new players. Instructors are U.S. Kids Certified, Positive Coaching Alliance Certified and Protecting God's Children Certified. Students will use real medical instruments (stethoscope, reflex hammer, and blood pressure cuff) and practice scrubbing, suturing, and tying knots like a real surgeon.

Mr. Valdez’s Math and Game Show Class

Students will work on algebra and real-world problems for the first half of every class. Then they will play games using their knowledge of math, vocabulary, and trivia. Each week a combination of different math and trivia games will challenge student teams to answer questions using variations of popular game shows such as Jeopardy and Family Feud. Mr. Valdez will be the host of each game show. Students will enjoy learning and will summon all their knowledge!

St. Louis Zoo: Habitat Helpers

From defenses to communication, caring for young to surviving the seasons, animals are adapted to survive in the habitat in which they live. Through games, art, virtual zoo visits and more we will learn about many of the ways animals have amazing adaptations that help them survive.

Chinese is the oldest written language in the world with roughly 6,000 years of history. There are over 20,000 Chinese characters, though only 3,000 - 4,000 or so are necessary to read a newspaper! One fifth of the world's population speaks Mandarin Chinese, and nearly a billion people speak native Mandarin, making Chinese the most widely spoken language in the world. Yuhong Skelton is a certified Montessori teacher with 22-years of teaching experience. Her customized content, age-appropriate courses, fun activities and digital learning help children learn this unique language. It also helps children become global citizens of tomorrow and enhance their profile with international readiness. Welcome to Montessori Mandarin Chinese Class!

St. Louis Zoo: Engineering Habitats

Students will take on the role of designing and building a model of an animal's habitat! Teamwork and research will guide students through steps on how the Saint Louis Zoo created state-of-the-art habitats to best care for animals. Students will put on the shoes of Zoo educators, architects, keepers and more as they use recycled materials to construct their habitat, based on what they discovered in six weeks. Virtual field trips of our Zoo animals and habitats will be given each day to help students connect with their project. We look forward to seeing your habitat design!

St. Louis Zoo: Exploring Zoo Careers

Keepers are not the only people who work at the Zoo. There are lots of different careers that are needed to make the Zoo enjoyable for animals and people! Come be a Zoo problem solver as we discover the different careers, figure out how they’re connected, and find solutions to some Zoo dilemmas. You’ll even get to experience virtual animal visits! On our last day, you’ll have the opportunity to share your Zoo career findings at our Presentation Party!

Scrapbooking with Mrs. Kane

Scrapbooking is the perfect way to capture memories while letting your creativity run wild. During this class, we will use various cutouts, stickers, textures, and other embellishments to create scrapbook pages that capture events from the 2021-2022 school year (at home or at school). Events may include the first day of school, holidays, birthdays, performances, sporting events, and more! Students will create their layouts and learn multiple layering techniques. At the end of the 10 weeks, students will have a special keepsake to look back on for years to come. Materials will be provided.

Seasoned climbing instructors from Vertical Voyages are coming to Rossman to help students climb large trees on our campus! Tree climbing is a safe, active, meaningful, and unique outdoor experience that allows participants to explore the canopy of a giant living organism. Vertical Voyages can be a catalyst for learning and growth by providing participants the challenge and opportunity to engage in transformative outdoor experiences. In this immerse 4-week class, students will climb trees using ropes. learn about forest ecology, identify trees, and build skills needed to climb like tying knots.

Field Hockey is a popular sport among middle and high school girls in the St. Louis area. Aim Field Hockey is dedicated to teaching high-level field hockey to all ages and stages. We help our young athletes set and achieve dynamic goals, while fostering a love for the game of field hockey. We believe that sport is a great platform for teaching life lessons - perseverance, integrity, teamwork, leadership and respect - all while having fun! We suggest athletes wear shin guards (Soccer style is fine) Aim will provide sticks or kids are welcome to bring their own if they have them.

Math Explorers is a fun opportunity to explore math in a variety of hands-on and collaborative ways! Games and activities will be differentiated for each grade level and student ability, so everyone is welcome and each child will feel challenged, yet successful!

Join the COCA Center of Creative Arts after school at Rossman… Rossman Players Revue is BACK! This year’s program is Yellow Brick Road Revue, written by director Susan Kopp, featuring music from Broadway blockbusters The Wizard of Oz, The Wiz, and Wicked. What happens when a group of students gets carried off to Oz in a tornado just like Dorothy? They, too, have to follow the yellow brick road, see the Wizard, and somehow find their way home. The story features new and classical characters of Oz, and is structured in a way that all cast members are featured. Rossman Players Revue provides students with an opportunity to build confidence in musical theatre skills and practice all of the steps of the rehearsal and performance process. We also work to build a supportive and trusting ensemble atmosphere and make memories that last a lifetime! Musical Direction by Syrhea Conaway.

Ukulele Study with Mrs. Fuller

This AEP class is an extension of last semester's ukulele unit where your child began learning to play the instrument. In class they learned to sing folk songs and accompany themselves on the instrument using 3 different chords. This AEP course will use those fundamentals to build their ukulele repertoire and continue to work on familiar chords as well as learn new chords while learning to play along with popular songs. Students will also have ample opportunities to learn, practice, and perform new songs in class as they learn even more about this instrument.

Students will learn how to volley, hit forehands, backhands, over heads and serves. We will introduce both under spin and top spin and work with students to eventually rally with one another towards the end of each session. The course is full of fun, smiles, and exciting tennis games! We use adjustable nets, smaller rackets and pressurized balls to maximize their tennis skills at a young age. Students will play together and may also be divided for exercises into groupings. We will also introduce tennis rules, etiquette, and trivia while in a fun and safe environment.

Little Medical School inspires young minds by sharing our passion for learning, health, and careers in medicine. Through hands-on activities, role-play, and interactive demonstrations, children explore the exciting world of healthcare professionals. All programs are written by a board-certified educator and reviewed by board-certified and trained healthcare professionals. Camp participants will role-play emergency situations in the wild and learn how to prepare for natural disasters. These future emergency medics will learn about snake bites, hypothermia, tourniquets, forest fires, tornadoes and more!

Did your students enjoy reading Zach’s Lie in 5th Grade? If so, they are sure to appreciate Jack’s Run, Roland Smith’s thrilling sequel to Zach’s Lie. In this class, students will analyze how the setting and plot of a story affect the characters in the story. Students will also write and share reflections about what they read. Each student will be provided their own copy of Jack’s Run; this will allow them to annotate accordingly.
