Admission Process

Admission Process During the COVID-19 Pandemic

The purpose of our admission process is to ensure our applicants will thrive at Rossman, socially, emotionally and academically. Although moving the admission process online during the COVID-19 pandemic, it remains our utmost priority to develop a relationship with our prospective families. The partnership between our parents and Rossman School is critical, as together we uphold the values of kindness, honesty, respect and responsibility in a nurturing community committed to excellence.

The admission process, whether in-person or virtual, assists in helping to establish this partnership. Applying to an independent school can feel overwhelming at times during typical circumstances. Be assured that our desire at Rossman is to support you as we navigate the days ahead. Please see the Steps to Apply below for additional information.

Virtual Meetings

While we encourage each family to see first hand the amazing culture and community at Rossman School through a private tour, at this time Director of Admission Katharine Durham would love to share Rossman’s story with you and answer your questions through a video call. This video call is the first step in our admission process and replaces a typical school tour. To meet virtually with our director of admission, please email her at Video calls may be scheduled for anytime 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.

Application Deadline

2021-2022 Enrollment

Applications for 2021-2022 are now being accepted. All application fees are waived for 2021-2022 applicants.

The priority application deadline is Friday, January 29, 2021. Transcripts and referrals will be requested from applicants’ current schools in January (if applicable).

Sibling applications are due Monday, November 30, 2020.

A goal of Rossman School is to prepare children academically, socially and emotionally to succeed in an independent secondary school. Rossman’s accelerated educational program makes it important to give consideration to each child’s capabilities and challenges. An applicant must have the aptitude to meet the requirements of Rossman’s academic program. Standards for each grade level must be met to ensure a child’s placement. If qualified, siblings and legacies are given preferential placement at the Junior Kindergarten level.

Rossman School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available at the school. Rossman does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of our educational policies, admissions policies, tuition assistance program, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
