Bridge Beyond Rossman
Our students are prepared to thrive after graduating from Rossman. We walk closely with families through all aspects of the secondary school application process as you visit, apply, and decide on your next school home. Our strong academic program naturally prepares students for success
with secondary school entrance exams, and our emphasis on written and verbal communication and public speaking leads students to excel in writing personal essays and interviewing.
The faculty and staff at Rossman develop a deep appreciation for and understanding of each of your children, which we are honored to share through our contributions to the application process, including personal recommendation letters and meetings with secondary schools to celebrate and advocate for your children. We also have an active network of past parents and alumni at many secondary schools who enjoy sharing their experiences and being a resource.
During sixth grade, we take care to preserve the joy, accomplishment, and celebration that students experience in their capstone year. We strike a balance in preparing for what is next while enjoying the here and now. Advisory groups provide a small context in which we make space for and intentionally support students in discussing graduation, the application process, and preparing for their next school, offering support to both empower students and decompress what need not be a stressful process.
For parents, we share information about what is to come at our secondary school information night for 4th and 5th Grade families. During the 6th Grade year, we provide families with an application timeline and a wealth of resources for completing the secondary school application process.
For students, we also offer a private administration of a practice SSAT for 5th Grade students and an official SSAT test for 6th Grade students on our campus, as well as an optional SSAT preparation course for 6th Grade students as part of our Afterschool Enrichment Program (AEP).
