Partnership is the word that defines the relationship of the families and the school. The high respect that the parents have for the school is equal to the high respect that the school has for them. Communication about student progress is frequent, and that communication is a two-way street. The basis for parental enthusiasm is their confidence in the academic program and the simultaneous emphasis on character education. On a recent survey of parental opinions about the school, statistics rated all divisions of the academic program between 4.3 and 4.77 on a scale of 5 and even higher ratings were given to the character development program.
Rossman is stronger because of the loyalty and dedication of the parents. The Parents’ Club reaches out to every parent. It is a fund-raising and friend-raising organization that leads numerous events, from cultural enrichment programs for the children to fun movie nights for families, book wish lists for the classrooms, wrapping paper sales, flower sales, auctions and more. The funds that are raised are given to the school to use for the benefit of the children. The friendships that develop between parents are deep and long term.
Rossman parents are an incredibly generous group of people when it comes to their children and their children’s school. Their generosity is multi-faceted — leadership, gifts, talents, energy, professional expertise — and the relationship that develops between home and school is a mutually enjoyable, important partnership.
