As an independent school, most of the money for the education of the children comes from tuition. Rossman does not receive federal, state or church funds. The operating budget, set by the Board of Trustees, is largely based on income from tuition and fees. The standards for quality programs, select faculty and the scope of activities, however, cost more than tuition provides. Interest from investments and the funds raised through Annual Giving bridge the gap between the tuition families pay and the actual cost to provide a Rossman education.
So, each year the Board of Trustees authorizes an Annual Giving Campaign to be led by the Chair of the Parents’ Club, a member of the Board. Trustees, faculty and staff, current parents and grandparents are all asked to participate in this project, which raises the final seven to nine percent of the operating budget.

Parents from each class contact their fellow parents, answering questions and encouraging participation. The goals they are striving to achieve this year are 100 percent participation of the Board of Trustees, Rossman faculty and staff and current parents, and raising $305,000 for the operation of the School. Their success is vital to the education of each child at Rossman School.
