The cost of financing an independent school education is rising. Therefore, tuition assistance is available for qualifying students through a grant program. Maximum assistance is 90% of tuition plus educational expenses. Monies are allotted as needs warrant and funds permit. These are monies that are not required to be repaid to the school.
All families applying for tuition assistance are required to submit a Parents Financial Statement directly to the School and Student Services (SSS) in Princeton, New Jersey, (a fee is applicable) and provide Rossman School with a copy of their most recent federal income tax return, including forms and schedules. Awards are based on need and are determined by the school’s Tuition Assistance Committee. It is the opinion of the school that regardless of the marital status of an applicant’s parents, both natural parents share the responsibility of educating their child. Therefore, in families of divorce or separation, the committee requests that both natural parents file applications. These cases will be individually evaluated and may result in tuition payments by both parents. In cases of remarriage by the parent who has custody, the financial status of the step parent may also be taken into account. Parents of students currently receiving tuition assistance are expected to contact the Director of Business and Finance and re-apply each year.
Although the fifteenth of February is the preferred date for having a completed tuition assistance application on file in the Business Office, applications are accepted throughout the admissions season. The application must include (1) a copy of the completed Parents Financial Statement for SSS and (2) a copy of all Tax Forms and Schedules for the year. Please contact the Business Office at 314 434-5877 for the necessary forms and for answers to your questions regarding tuition assistance.
All application forms, tax information and other related papers are strictly confidential.
Awards are made on an annual basis and are generally announced in March of each year.
