At Rossman School, we carefully monitor student growth to meet individual needs and help our students reach their full potential. A comprehensive team approach keeps parents, teachers, and administrators informed and provides the benefit of a variety of perspectives.
Teachers monitor students’ classroom performance and communicate with parents regularly throughout the year. At bi-weekly Student Review Meetings, teachers, the Learning Consultant, and the Lower/Upper School Director discuss individual student’s social and academic progress and develop strategies for maximizing this growth. The Learning Consultant and the Lower and Upper School Directors also meet weekly with the Head of School to share information about the social and academic progress of our students.
In addition to classroom performance, Rossman uses standardized testing to assess the academic skills of students, individually and as a group. Administrators and teachers use this information to guide curriculum to appropriately challenge our students.
At the annual end-of-year Student Review Meetings, teachers and administrators dialogue about each student’s learning needs and the unique dynamics of each class. This process maintains continuity as students move from one grade to the next.
